What kind of pussy whipped bitch brings his knitting to a baseball game? Apparently more than just this tool! Not only is he a guy knitting at the game, but it looks as if he's the best knitter of the bunch--he's almost done with his Mariners' home teal sweater! Note: the Mariners nailed every one of their target demographics in one single family photo. Asians, little girls, and a soccer dad who has a thing for knitting. No drinking or jeering from this group, just baseball and good old-fashioned family fun...and knitting! http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/localnews/2002408641_stitchnpitch29m.html

Brian, we've seen all these pictures before. A few times. Maybe a thousand times. I don't want to discourage you from posting pictures, in fact I love the way it makes the blog colorful. But Jason is right, you can't unload your hard drive on us. We remember the good times, but shit it was less than five years ago, maybe we should take the Sunday drive down memory lane some other time. Until then keep your comments pithy and remember: name and town, name and town.

Art Thiel has had enough!I'm glad that somebody in the Seattle media is spitting a little venom - Its about time. Also, Scott Spiezio is "in the best shape of his life" according to his physique, he says. Hey Scott, you know what? I don't care.

Well Germany is a lot like the other european countries I ve been to except for a few things: 1. German is not a pretty language. 2. They are chimneys. Man I need to get back into big tobacco, they are going to keep them going strong for a long time. 3. Men wear capri pants a lot. 4. You don't see just jeans, they all have flair: extra pockets, coloring, stitching, patches... 5. The Taxi drivers drive mercedes. 6. It is a requirement that people wear noisy clothes. You can hear someone 40 feet away. 7. Personal hygene hasn't come much farther, you can smell them from 20 feet away. 8. People ride bikes, a lot. Lots of old people ride bikes, in normal clothes... its weird. 9. I tried a beer and it sucked, I think it must have been their equivalent of the beast. Updates on the beer later. 10. Two more hours until I can sleep, yeah, its been 26 hours now. acp

Ok, my last post totally blew...but I think this one will be worthwhile. I think... The World Is Not EnoughJust imagine driving across the 520 bridge and get passed by a 139' megayacht. (note the top speed) New joke...? "and then he got passed by a megayacht!" Not nearly as funny, but just imagine Colby saying it while standing in the back of the cafeteria and having a rain of 'boos' follow. Ahh shit, hope this one doesn't get booted...

WHAT THE FUCK?!? This web log or "blog" was created with this intention: a place for us all to post funny, original, informative, interesting, and/or creative posts. Because Scott's extremely long cut and paste of an Onion article about a guy complaining about how robots were not programed to not mess with his wife didn't fit any of the aforementioned criteria, I fucking booted it. Hell! while I'm at it, I'll delete all of them and include a link so you can read every hillarious article yourself: www.theonion.comIn its place, I submit a more informative and slightly more entertaining article about things you'll need for a new puppy! Bon Appetit! Care for Your New Puppy Supplies For Your New Puppy You Will Need: 1.Premium pet food to get your new puppy off to a good start. 2. Food and water bowls. 3. Identification tag, collar and leash. 4. Travel crate to accommodate your puppy's adult size. 5. Stain remover for accidents and spills. 6. Brushes or combs for your new puppies coat. 7. Dog shampoo, toothbrush and tooth paste. 8. Safe chew toys to ease teething. 9. Flea, tick and parasite controls. 10. Nail clippers. 11. Tasty reward treats.

http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/transportation/232967_evergreen18.html Since 520 is ending its useful life it may be susceptible to "wind waves and earthquakes" Great, I can see it now. The next 60 mph wind storm blows through and topples 520 a la I-90 a few years back. That will make life just grand here in Seattle. So how again can we stop the monorail and use its money (or lack thereof) for the bridge?

Enumclaw-area animal-sex case investigated
By Jennifer SullivanSeattle Times staff reporter King County sheriff's detectives are investigating the owners of an Enumclaw-area farm after a Seattle man died from injuries sustained while having sex with a horse boarded on the property. Investigators first learned of the farm after the man died at Enumclaw Community Hospital July 2. The county Medical Examiner's Office ruled that the death was accidental and the result of having sex with a horse. A surveillance camera picked up the license plate of the car that dropped the man off at the hospital, which led detectives to the farm and other people involved, said sheriff's Sgt. John Urquhart. Deputies don't believe a crime occurred because bestiality is not illegal in Washington state and the horse was uninjured, said Urquhart. But because investigators found chickens, goats and sheep on the property, they are looking into whether animal cruelty — which is a crime — was committed by having sex with these smaller, weaker animals, he said. The farm was talked about in Internet chat rooms as a destination for people looking to have sex with livestock, he said. "A significant number of people, we believe, have likely visited this farm," said Urquhart. The Humane Society of the United States intends to use the case during the next state legislative session as an example of why sex with animals should be outlawed in Washington, said Bob Reder, a Humane Society regional director in Seattle. "This and a few other cases that we have will allow us a platform to talk about sex abuse of animals," Reder said.

What happened to Adam Wright? Does he not like this extremely informative and entertaining blog? I can't imagine living in SF is more fun than posting a few musings of his day! I can sort-of understand Andy and Vanos never posting anything; Andy because he has to pedal a bike to get a reading light to work and Vanos because we aren't funny at all to him...But Adam, get off your ass! You too Phipps.

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Nate McMillan is leaving the Seattle SuperSonics to coach the Portland Trail Blazers. ESPN.com Insider Chad Ford reports that McMillan agreed to a five-year contract.. The Blazers late Wednesday night hired McMillan, who led the SuperSonics to the Northwest Division title this past season. He will be introduced Thursday at a news conference, the Blazers said in a statement. McMillan's contract with the Sonics expired July 1 and the Blazers aggressively pursued him. McMillan's departure comes a day after Seattle signed All-Star free agent Ray Allen to a five-year, $85 million contract extension. "Our last compensation discussion detailed a proposal that on average would have made Nate one of the five highest paid active NBA coaches," Sonics president Wally Walker said in a statement. "While we made him a fair offer, we in no way begrudge Nate's ability to earn more than we could offer. "Our respect and affection for Nate will not waver, no matter how paradoxical that he is moving to our Northwest rival." ..................................... Personally I think this sucks, but more than that I think it was a terrible career move. My suggestion would be that Nate enroll in bail bonds courses at his local community college before signing the offer sheet. Nate joins a franchise in the midst of a decline so dire that it can only be reversed through a firesale of both the players and the management. Paul Allen may have struck gold at Microsoft, but everything he has touched since has turned into visual represenation of Ted Kennedy's liver. I heard the clincher wasn't so much the cash as Allen's promise to give him a pit bull and whizzinators to better endear him with his new players.

Bret Boone was designated for assignment today before this afternoon's game against the Rangers. Boonie was good in 2001 and 2003, but c'mon folks, people - baseball people - said that Boone had bulked up a ton before that "magical" year of 2001. I don't know about you, but when baseball people in the steroids era say that you bulked up quickly, doesn't that suggest something? Since the beginning of steroid testing, Boone's numbers have gone through the floor. I don't have the time nor the energy after a drive back from Cape Cod tonight to run the numbers regarding his decline ( Lookout Landing does that), so you'll have to take my word for it. All in all, Brett had a good run of success in Seattle, but his cocky attitude and "if you don't like the way I lollygag throws to first, you can suck it" demeanor got on my nerves. The one reedeming part of this whole experience was Boone crying to the media after being released. Its kind of like the bully (Boone) in the movies who gets his just desserts at the end of the film, while the kids he's abused and frustrated (every man, woman and child in Seattle) for the whole time (2004 and 2005 seasons) laugh and ridicule him ( bendermenz.blogspot.com, lookoutlanding.com, niceguysfinishthird.com, ussmariner.com) now that the tables are turned. Oh yeah, if you're reading this Jose Lopez, welcome to the club. Also Chris Snelling - welcome as well. Don't forget to wear flip-flops in the clubhouse shower - Ever since Spiezio's been here, he's been spreading fungus like its going out of style. Oh yeah - its real nice to see Scott Podsednik - former Mariner Scott Podsednik be a possible All-Star. Thank you, front office. I need a drink.

Blair's post from yesterday is something that he and I have been talking about for awhile, and since I finally have the forum (and the time), I'd like to make a few comments about the Mariner fan base:
- Our fanbase is one of (if not the only) fanbase in all of Major League Baseball that has a higher percentage of women in it than men. This leads to a more female-centric marketing of the team. I'm alreadying rueing the day when the Mariners have the Tampax Mariner Matinee on Wednesday day games.
- Our fanbase loves to live in the past. Hey, remember the great "Refuse to Lose" campaign of 1995? Yeah, I do - it was great. But here's something to remember: That was 10 YEARS AGO. We need to move on. The same needs to be said for 2001. Great year. We didn't make the playoffs the following year. Move on.
- I'm not sure if people outside of Seattle realize this, but the Mariners are a team that hasn't been taken seriously nationally in some time (this includes the 2001 team). If we were tougher on the team and the front office (how about booing Adrian Beltre after he strikes out like a stupid asshole or criticizing Pat Gillick for signing Scott friggin' Spiezio?), it may motivate them to play better.
- We have fans like these that come to games:
Thanks to lookoutlanding.com for the image
- Why is it that the Red Sox fanbase can vote Johnny Damon into the All-Star game past Ichiro? Doesn't anybody in Seattle realize that Ichiro only had a razor-thin margin with only a few days left in the voting? What's worse, Damon ended up winning the starting spot by more than 120,000 votes.
Overall, there needs to be a sense of urgency with this team. Chuck Armstrong, Howard Lincoln and their cronies have lulled the public into a sense of accepting mediocre baseball as being OK and relying on the relative successes of the 2000 and 2001 teams to keep people interested. I don't know about anybody else, but I don't know how much longer I can pay for a ticket to watch our team go down early 3-0 and lose 5-1.
